MS 150 Bike Tour Virginia

This year I have taken on the challenge of participating in the 2005 MS 150 Bike Tour for Multiple Sclerosis to do my part in the battle against multiple sclerosis. The funds raised through this wonderful event go to provide services, educational programs, and vital medical research needed to end MS.

I am asking you to join me in a cause I believe in, by supporting my efforts to reach my fundraising goal of $1000.00 and to help end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis.

Did you know that 400,000 Americans are living with multiple sclerosis? Did you know that every hour a new person is diagnosed with this debilitating disease?

In the past five years, much progress has been made in the search for a cure and researchers are on the brink of unlocking the mystery of this unpredictable disease. However, there is still no cure. Together we can change lives and make a difference. Please click and donate through my paypal account for this worthy cause.

Thank you in advance for your generosity.

CES coverage

CES is going on this week and one of my new favorite sites is covering it from A to Z. Check it out at CES Engadget coverage.

Fast Food...must stop now!

Well it's official...The one thing I truly love in this world other than my Wife....Wendy's Hamburgers..Is officially killing me. Had my new Doc give me a blood test awhile back to check my health. Cholesterol came back higher than expected and my Triglycerides were off the chart. Making a drastic change in my eating habits and doing some moderate exercise will hopefully keep me off the Cholesterol lowering drugs which after reading the side effects seem worse than what high cholesterol will do if left unchecked.

So count me in as one of the slightly obese, high cholesterol Americans until I can drop some weight...Hopefully the new year will bring me better health. *Soapbox Rant* Also, most Americans need to stop eating so much junk and start eating better. This has been a wakeup call for me and I plan on eating better in the future. I wish more people would do the same *End Soapbox Rant*

RNC has begun!!!

Well the RNC kicked into high gear tonight and so far it is doing well. John McCain just got done and his speech was quite good. I can't wait till what Rudy G has to say...Should be great!

I was very surprised and impressed to see Ron Silver (normally a liberal) speaking tonight and his speech was quite good considering his Democrat background. More later....

Games of the 80's on your TV!

Example
I picked on of these up for my Wife from Electronics Boutique and man is it fun. Play all the games you remember from your childhood - PacMan, DigDug, Galaxian, and others. For only $19 bucks it is worth it. It plugs straight into your TV A/V jacks and runs on 4 AA Batteries. It can be purchased at Wal-mart, EBGames, Electronics Boutique, etc.

Have Fun!

Iraq's top Shi'ite cleric comin to town!!

Looks like they are still trying to defuse the Al-Sadr issue in Najaf. Now Iraq's top Shi'ite cleric Ali al-Sistani is stepping in to see what he can do. I doubt he will be able to do anything but hopes are high in Najaf for sure.

HDTV, DVD, Hard Drives and the future

I am a subscriber to High Def programming and get to watch HDnet and HDnet movies. These are owned by Mark Cuban the owner of the Dallas Mavericks. He has a blog and I caught this interesting entry from him about HDTV, DVD, Hard Drives and the future. Take a look!

Al Sadr needs to go bye-bye

Anyone else tired of hearing about Al Sadr?? I know I am....Can we just storm the shrine take the guy out and let that be it? He is worse than Kerry when it comes to flip-flopping.

Cease-fire, no cease-fire, Cease-fire, no cease-fire, large pepperoni pizza, no cease-fire. These crazies are terrorists and even the Iraqis in the area agree they need to be taken out. Back our troops out or storm the place but stop with the yo-yo tactics that must be driving our soldiers up the wall.

Can mounting a light fixture be that difficult!?

So me and Twin#2 got together this weekend with the Wives and picked up a new ceiling light fixture. Once we got home with it we went ahead and broke the box open to mount it in the ceiling. Thing is this fixture has some of the WORST directions I have ever seen. I felt like I was looking at ancient Egyptian hyroglyphs and needed some Professor from Yale to help me with deciphering it.

So we decided to wing it and skip the directions...too bad the drywallers for the house decided it was best to drywall over the electric box in the ceiling leaving enough space just for the wires to poke thru. I think it was about 40 minutes later that we chipped enough drywall away to mount the new fixture.

Then the real fun began....Someone had to hold the fixture high enough with their hands so we could wire it. The wire connectors weren't being our friend either and it took three tries until they finally stayed connected. I think total time to mount it was at least 2 hours. Hope I don't have to mount one of those for a long time but at least the house didn't burn to the ground and the Wife is happy. That is really all that matters in the end isn't it?

Twin #2 has arrived

I thought I would make my presence known. I'm the other half of the twin techies. I work in the networking group at a law firm and I'll be ranting about that some in the future. You'll get to see how screwed up working here really is. If you've seen office space, where I work is worse. I'll be back soon. Later!

Republican Link of the Day

As you know from my previous post I am a Republican...So I thought I would start a Republican link of the day for all the same minded people who stop in.....

RightWingStuff.com is a CafePress store that caters to the Right with bumper stickers, T-shirts, mugs, etc. Most of the slogans are humorous where as some are quite aggressive and could possibly offend some people.

Shipping time can be quite long since these items are only made when ordered. Total time from order to delivery can be anywhere from 5-7 business days.

I am a Right Winger...Don't Panic!

I don't know if you have been following the John Kerry Vs. The Swift Boat Veterans but it is not looking good for our old buddy John Boy. He keeps protesting that the Swift Boat Vets are puppets for Bush but I disagree. Yeah, they might be financed by a Republican with deep pockets but they are not connected directly with the Bush Campaign and if you can prove to me that similar Left wing groups who love Kerry aren't financed by some heavy wallet Dems I will eat my hat.

If Kerry really wants to clear up the mystery surrounding his time in Vietnam then he should release all his military records to the public by filling out the 180 form . C'mon Kerry it isn't that difficult...throw us a bone here.

I will have serious doubts about Kerry's gun battle fairy tales until this happens. You can say what you want but it seems to me that Kerry his using his truth to describe what happened in Nam and not the facts. Let me know what you think...I listen to all sides....I am fair and balanced. MrBo

Day one....It begins!

Welcome to the blog...hope to share some tech news, politics, and general daily thoughts with you daily. Enjoy the blog and hopefully I won't impale my self on my keyboard in the process. I am twin #1 and twin #2 should be along shortly....Call me MrBojangles.
